Croft Williams & Co. is a new company, but the expertise behind it isn't. David is a UK registered architect with over twenty years of experience across high-end private homes, apartment schemes, and large-scale retrofit projects. That depth of experience shapes everything we do, from how we assess a site's potential to how we navigate the planning process on your behalf.
Land with Potential
In 2018, David's relative needed to raise funds to extend and repair their home. They had a large garden with development potential, and though it wasn't an easy decision, they were willing to sell part of it to make their plans possible.
The Proposal
David designed a three-bedroom house to sit within the garden. The project was nicknamed 'The Croft' — hence our name. Planning permission was granted in 2019, and the land value quadrupled overnight.
Design-Led to Minimise Risk and Add Value
The design was contemporary, but drew clear inspiration from the local cottages and agricultural buildings around it. It was rooted in its context, and a pre-application consultation with the local planning authority was met with genuine enthusiasm, significantly reducing planning risk. A design that belonged to its place also commanded a premium. It offered buyers something distinctive in a sought-after location.
